With a growing city and the population increasing quickly, it is inevitable that an excellent transportation system be implemented and maintained. There is much talk of the Hurontario LRT (light rail transit) to be completed in an estimated time frame of 2022. This project would essentially transform the way citizens in Peel live and move through the city. The Hurontario LRT will be 20 kilometres of lines, from north to south, right through the heart of Mississauga and Brampton, 2 enormous and important communities. The Hurontario LRT would have 22 stops and its own dedicated right-of-way – so no traffic to deal with. It will connect to the Milton and Lakeshore West GO lines, along with local transit links like MiWay, Brampton Transit, Zum, and Mississauga Transitway at Square One. It would act as a connection to assist in local families need for freedom and choice.

I support the LRT and I would hope that while it is under construction, we could use our bus system during peak traffic times to travel in designated lanes, moving on a continual basis in order to reduce traffic.
